Malaga players withdraw claims of unpaid salary

In the latest turn of events, Spanish La Liga side-Malaga authorities say that the players who complained about wages due have withdrew their claims.

Santi Cazorla, Joris Mathijsen, Salomon Rondon and Ruud Van Nistelrooy were the players who were named by the Spanish press as those who had earlier contacted the Spanish Players' Union (AFE) to report that up to 40% of their salaries from last season had not been paid.

But the club released a statement on their site which read thus: "Malaga football club would like to communicate that, at the expense of finalising the relevant administrative procedures, the players that had made a claim against the club have withdrawn it and agreed to a payment method that the rest of the first team squad had already agreed to."
